So they have this thing now called a digital facelift now. I love it. Where you can go in and digitally… Have you done that with my any of my photos? No. You haven’ yet? No. No. Can you? I can. (music) So we are in Chicago. I’m Walter, this is Nicki. Hello! And we are here because Whole Foods Market has a brand new scoop shop They’ve gotten rid of all their gelato in 36 stores in the Midwest region and they replaced it with.. With High Road! High Road! High Road Ice Cream, High Road sandwiches, and Wallops. Wallops. Wallops. Four flavors yo! (laughter). And now we’re exploring Chicago. (music). We’ve already found one place that we want to go. We just walked out of our hotel. And the neon drawing us in. woooo. And the word doughnuts and coffee are also drawing us in. Did you know there’s a castle in Chicago. Oh hey we’re under the El. That was like the French connection right there baby. Wow have you ever seen a McDonald’s that has a marquee. I have not not. Until today! Have you ever seen a McDonald’s that has a marquee? You will now. (music) (music and cheering) (music) Chicago you are gorgeous. We are down here at the famous Riverwalk. You want to go kayaking maybe we can find a kayak. I think, yeah I would. But we need a little wine as we kayak. Oh wine. Yeah. I’ll take an Old Fashioned with my kayak. Thank you. Yes. (drum music) So we found the the bake shop and the ice cream counter and it’s absolutely amazing. I’m showing you some footage of it right now.The woman responsible for all
of this is Amy Donatiof Whole Foods. That’s me!So Amy. So first of all what do you think? I’d love it. I absolutely love it. Isn’t it beautiful. Customers are loving it already. We’re super happy with it. Yeah. So how did all this come together. Well over a year ago we had the idea of transforming the gelato case. And we set out to find a vendor to help us with that. And I met Nicki at a trade show over a year ago and we started to develop the line. And that’s kind of how it all started from the inception. And over the past year we’ve looked at flavors and finishes and all that. And so many samplings in there it is. You got to come visit us. I did. I got to go to Atlanta. It was awesome. Yeah it was good time. And it’s a good friendship on top of that. That’s right. That’s right. So how did you settle in on like the mix of flavors and sandwiches and Wallops and all that good stuff. Well the Wallops, we just took them all. (laughter) Good decision to take all the Wallops! Don’t discriminate. And the sandwiches we actually took them all too. Yeah! We started out with the four. And then we decide to broaden it to all of them. So with everything new that you all develop we’ll just keep sticking it in. And then the Scoopables we kind of thought color break a little bit. And the Four Berry (sorbet) you actually developed for us to mimic our old Four Berry, which is much better. So we just kind of picked the color break and we figured we can just switch it out for seasons. I think we picked a good mix. What’s been the customer response so far. So far it’s overwhelmingly great. We’re showing a very very happy customer base. The team members are really really excited about it. With the lower labor, the consistency and its different. Customers are loving the different. Where do we go from here. Sky’s the limit. Where do we go from here. I think you know, I think we would talk about innovation being something fun like as new flavors develop as sandwiches. The fact of the matter is, Amy’s brilliant so like having her like to riffle with it’s really fun. Because we can totally like riff on ideas and when we go back to Christian and Rebecca back at the home, at the home office. Then we could create more things to load the case up with. Then and then provide the customer something new is really exciting. So it’s really just a matter of switching it in whenever you guys come up with it and it’s really endless. And Nicki for those who know us as a retail brand they may not even realize this is how you actually started and it’s a big part of the business is food service, right?. Absolutely yes. Actually this is this is are, this is really what we focused on when we first started the company was working with people, co-creating. Creating beautiful flavors for them. Innovation, things like that. So this is really for us, this is really fun and for the R&D chefs it’s super fun. This is great, so there’s 36 stores across the 8 states, That have this so you can thank Amy the next time you want to get a sandwich or a Wallop or scoop of ice cream
or sorbet. And this is just the beginning. Amy has so many idea that our team back there I think their heads are going to explode with so many things she wants to do. (laughter) So we’re in Chicago. This is the Lakeview store. Absolutely one of the most beautiful Whole Foods stores I’ve ever seen. Agreed. So if you’re in Chicago, you’re near the Lakeview store. Come on in. Check this out or if you’re in any of one of the other eight states, 36 stores, ice cream bar! We can get a Wallop and then you can look at the lake. Get a Wallop. You can get Walloped at the lake! Yeah you can get Walloped at the lake. How about that! I love it. Thanks for inviting us Amy! Oh I’m so glad, you’re welcome. I’m so glad you’re here!
