Good morning! We have a new travel today, not in the villages of Lebanon… but we are traveling. Meshwar (trip) Adana starts now! The image started clearing up, there’s around 100 people who are showing up. I thought I was alone… there’s lost of food! Between them is Borek we just took a picture of, and it’s a 4 hours journey. There’s food and discoveries for all the region! It’s a very interesting start, I’m very excited. From the plane, to the train, then the car. I’d try them all! In Lebanon we don’t have a train so lots of us haven’t gotten onto one. What if you sat infront and you saw how the driver is driving. The feeling is great, he’s moving slowly… I will show you the road a bit. Drive slow, don’t get us worried. I will go back, the food definitely started. Goodbye! The outer crunch is so good! It’s addictive! It’s very good! Impressive! I love it. I have a reason to continue walking… I’ll take it with me and continue running till the end so that I show you the view. It’s amazing, street food on the train! That’s something new! This is the train at the end, I’m alone No one thought of coming back to the empty end. I came with my car, and I will show you how good the view is! I think we have reached the destination. We stopped in the middle, after passing many tunnels and bridges… and very nice views, we stopped. Let’s see. A garden, people are eating and bread is being made. There are tables with display food. The vibes are very nice so I will find myself a place to sit. To try and taste what they have. One of the best food bloggers, she already has 9 books! You have to inform us who you are. My name is Annisa El Helou, I write about the food in the Middle East region. The last book is called Feast: Food of the Islamic World. It got published in the States and in England, It took an award from James Spears Foundation! And my first book is about the Lebanese Food. I am her fan, I love what she does.. memorize her name Anissa Helou, check her online and check her books. I’m very honored and I have the pleasure of meeting you. Thank you, I’m glad as well. As you can see, it was important for me to see what they’re doing. It’s close to the Lebanese Sage. I really like the small wooden stick they use. There are two ways, you can do it this way Add flour, and on the other side as well. Ah alright. Or I can roll it the way it is so rather than rolling it on my hands, I can roll it like that.. And then I open it up like that, right? We got here. It’s exactly like Sage, I was just asking it doesn’t include yeast at all. Why does it bloat? Because they put it on the embers from down. From up they put it on the Sage once it’s cooked a bit they put it down on the ember. It blows up and it’s very thin. It’s well roasted The smell of firewood is very decent and nice… They spray a bit of oil on the bread, then they put two stuffings, cheese and potato. There is too much traffic, I couldn’t find a place to sit. But the smell leaded me to the kitchen, and I saw honey in it’s honeycomb-like shape. This is from the middle, and the way it is… and to show him that he can eat it like that. You chew it well. It’s very good! Their climate is so close to ours, as well as the taste of food and the vibes and the weather… all are similar to ours. The wax of the honey isn’t sticking together, it melts under the tongue. It disappeared. I swallowed them. Let’s find a spot to try the cheese. We found a table… Us Lebanese people, we’re always hyped. We don’t argue, we’re relaxed and each one of us is sitting on his table We sat on a small table next to the bathrooms. But we are super happy! We’re trying the cheese… and the tomatoes, the olives, a cup of tea. Oh the Gozleme came. Great! The sandwiches that we spoke about a while ago. Nice! It’s good food! Good food! I can be very honest, I didn’t enjoy the food in Istanbul that much… But here I am very happy! It has good intensity, it has smoothness, and the smell and taste of the nature. And freshness, the cucumber and tomatoes taste like actual cucmber and tomatoes. Nice! Here we go again. The train moved, another 2 hours to go and we start. The view is nice, it’s calm… and there is a surprise! Baklawa that we didn’t have before. This is the story, there was two, he took one and he started giving out and so we waited for him to leave, to have one for ourselves! In that way we try them calmly, Baklawa… they have pistachios and they’re light green in color. Atter (sweetner). As much as you want, I guess here in Turkey they add more honey as seen here. Very sweet! Very very very sweet! It doesn’t have the crunch of the Lebanese Baklawa. It doesn’t taste the same at all, but it’s very good! But we can’t say it tastes the same, ours has less pistachios, and more crunch. But here, it’s like you’re eating a pistachio sandwich with Atter. We got to the hotel! Let’s have a tour and go back… When they told me that you have to come to Adana taste festival, I was like what might it be? Street food market? Is it like Horeca where people exhibit their food? I didn’t expect to find something this huge! I will show you drone pictures. And it’s this diversified Wherever you walk, you smell food and the vibes are very nice! The music is nice, I hope it’s not noisy. I feel like I want to meet up with one of the organizers, just to tell me how many 100 stands are there? A fast tour, I’m very hungry! We’ll go back to the Lebanese stand. Before coming here they told me that the best Kabab is in Adana, the bread is very special, it’s small and it’s open from the middle, it’s not twisted.. like the Lebanese one. Kabab with spice a bit. It has lots of bread, the taste of Kabab… is amazing! But the bread is thick and it’s chewy! The Kabab is mind blowing… Very fatty, very juicy… But the sandwich since it has so much bread, if it has pickles and hummus it would’ve been amazing! I’m so happy I tried it. nice, it’s crunchy… pieces of pistachios, and their color is nice, and the sweetness is minimal. One of the best sweets I tried in Turkey. It’s very nice in taste! I’m saying it’s one of the best in Turkey. Very good, their crunch is great, they’re not chewy and their sugar is minimal. pitachios, Atter.. I had a tour, I passed by it all… I couldn’t take a picture of everything. I ate at every stand. But what makes me happy is that I’m going back to the Lebanese stand. And we have to wait! Look at the amount of people! We are giving them the Beirut Msabaha to taste. Falafel, Lebanese Falafel with sesame. With Tartar, without vegetables without pickles..Just try the right taste of Falafel! Good morning… We serve Sfeeha from Baalbak. The best Sfeeha Baalbakeye! 100% Lebanese from Baalbak! What’s nice is that they’re really liking it. The best Falafel! Challange, there are about 10 pieces of Falafel.. how many seconds would it take for them to vanish? Each one is divided into 4… We have to try the Knefeh, first of all look at the Atter.. there’s too much Atter. The Knefeh is Nabulsiyeh which is rough from the top. It’s thickness is just like ours, the cheese is melted and it’s very stretchy. Waw! It’s very hot! So we will wait.. meanwhile I see the cheese melt, it looks nice. A crunch from the top… It’s not chewy at all. It’s swimming in Atter. It’s cheese is very melted, sweetness to the maximum! I really like it. I will wait for it to cool off because I burnt my tonsils. Hop in, get in all of you! No it doesn’t fit 7 people. So I will go before them to the hotel, and they’ll follow me. Let’s go! Chopped meat on the inside, there’s something sweet in it. From the outside raw Kebbeh. It’s delicious, served warm… It’s balance is nice and tasty. Very nice. This thing is amazing! I am discovering things today, this juice if you look at it… you’d think it’s sweet, but it’s not. it’s very salty. It’s the black carrot juice that’s very salty and citrus in taste. It’s like you’re drinking the vinegar in Tabbouleh or the Citrus sinensis. But as a juice. The meat is very soft. It’s the opposite of the meat I ate today morning. It has lots of peppers. But it’s very good! Kabab Time! It comes as a very long stick in each one’s plate. Very Juicy. It’s so good! I’m not doubting this I have telling you from the morning, but… for it to have more taste and life… I will take the bread, we spread a bit of flavor. We take the tomato, we add it here… We do a special sandwich with taste and life! They will learn something new and add it to the menu! Done for the day! I’m tired, the day was amazing! It started at 4am and it ended now at 11 pm. and we still need 40 minutes to get to the hotel. This day is historical! It needs an episode alone! I’m still in the beginning of my travel… 3 days in Adana, it’s the first we still have two days remaining, so stay with me! Because it’s insane! Good night, see you tomorrow!
