We’re Adam and Joanne from inspiredtaste.net
and welcome to our kitchen! We’re making our Easy, Three ingredient
tomato soup. You wouldn’t think that three ingredients
— butter, onion and tomato — can come together to make such a velvety and delicious
tomato soup, but let me tell you. They can. Cut the butter into a couple smaller pieces.
Then move on to the onion — we only need half and it should be cut into quarters. No
need to slice it anymore than that. Grab a large can of tomatoes — we use whole
tomatoes, crushed works too. Throw the the butter into a saucepan and wait
until it melts. Add the onion and the can of tomatoes — juice and all. Since this will be simmering a while, we add
some water to thin it out a bit and finally some salt so it’s well seasoned. Give everything a stir then gently break each
tomato into a couple pieces. Now cook at a low simmer for about 40 minutes. Simple, right? The soup is done, now we just need to blend
it. We like using a blender. Here’s a tip — add the soup, cover with the lid, but
don’t add the stopper. Instead, rest a dishtowel on top and cover with your hand. Since the soup is still hot, if you did not
do this, it would go EVERYWHERE — not good! It’s not often you’ll see us without grilled
cheese to dip into our tomato soup, so let’s quickly make one (or two). Then serve the soup in big bowls and enjoy!! Thanks for watching!
