hello everybody welcome to be green with Amy I’m Amy today we are going to do a demonstration of sauce which could be a salad dressing it could be something that you create into other things but today we’re going to show you how to make the sauce which is kind of like a mayonnaise it doesn’t it’s not just like the mayonaise that you may be familiar with but it is kind of that creamy kind of texture and really good flavor so let’s get started so we will have the recipe in the comments below and I have the recipe here if anybody wants to take a look at it so the first thing that we do is you put water in and look Rick already helped me because this is In the series called “hey I can make that” Rick wanted to make sure I could 🙂 so in that we’re gonna put in some tofu now the recipe calls for silken tofu but we’d like to break the rules a lot so this is not silken tofu but it still works anyway I think that probably Makes no difference and you guys this is a sprouted tofu probably the main difference might be the texture of the sauce when it’s done this might be a little more gritty and maybe the silken tofu might be a little more smooth. We use what we can find. If it’s available, that’s what we use so then we’re going to put in some vinegar now this recipe calls for wine vinegar but we didn’t have it and that’s the great thing, you can always substitute things it may not coming out exactly that’s the recipe I might have a call for but it’ll still tastes good! We’re gonna put in some vinegar here. There’s a little air bubble in there, some suspense for you. Then we’re gonna put in some mustard, you can put in powdered dried mustard. What we like to do is we have turmeric every day and they say that if you add black pepper to tumeric it helps increase the bioavailability so we like fresh ground pepper because it’s more flavorful because the oils dry up and you get how to just ground up pepper if you could grind it fresh yourself it’s better and this particular dispenser has 2 compartments. One is supposed to be for salt and we don’t use salt so we put mustard seeds in that other side Is that cool? Yeah that’s cool! okay I’m not gonna measure because it’s gonna come out this way and then like I said we don’t use salt but what we do use is a salt substitute and you can pick your favorite are this Benson’s table tasty and we find that it just has a better flavor as far as what we like so we are going to put some of that in Did you use this? no okay yeah Rick doesn’t use measuring spoons. This is you know this is big a tablespoon you know and Rick doesn’t use measuring spoons, so I have to just go with the flow this is Plan B right? Okay so and then we’re just gonna put some of that in there, a little bit more okay when you’re cooking you want to have different flavor profiles so this is date paste and I can put the link for that below. You can use dates and I’ll tell you how many in the recipe but we prefer to use date paste because it’s just easier for us to store and we found it in an expensive place to buy it. And that’s it! So that’s not too bad, right? That’s the “Hey, I can make that!” recipe. Okay so this is a Nutribullet which is kind of nice you can use it or maybe a food processor – I like when I’m making dressings, I really like to use the Nutribullet because unlike the Vitamix and some other blenders you all the dressing is going to wind up in here and just maybe a little bit here and it’ll be very easy to get out rather than using a spatula to Scrape down. Okay so we’ve got that put on and now we’re gonna blend that [Music] okay it’s like I’m making a cocktails! (Someone says “Never saw anyone shake that” I know all right so that’s it and that’s really cool so we’ll show you the consistency of it and like I said that’s the Only cleanup that you would have to do as far as a blade goes so it comes out very easily and I guess we’ll just kind of show you the consistency of it. You guys can all have a taste if you want so there’s a lot of things that you can do with this so this is kind of like I said like a Mayo you can add lemon to it um and you can add just different seasonings depending on what what kind of flavor profile you want one of the things that ripped it for us today and you all get to taste too and he made a potato salad and he used this for potato salad so that’s another thing you can do what else did you want to tell them that they could add to that besides you know I’ve used the recipe similar to that to make ricotta cheese you know put as much water in there you used lemon take out the vinegar or you could use the vinegar whatever your floater is oh you can throw some little Cayenne in there give it a little bit more of a kick there’s a bunch of different things you can do with it but I figured since it was supposed to be a Mayo we’ll throw it in with the potato salad or macaroni salad.
