Foods That Are Super Healthy
I would definitely buy the coconut meat scraper gadget. It's like a mini version of the coconut scrapers they use in Philippines/Southeast Asia. It takes practice to get used to it. It's the best gadget to get if you use a lot of grated coconut or coconut milk/cream in your cooking. You have to firmly hold the coconut shell and press the coconut meat to the blade. Make sure that your hands are steady so that the coconut doesn't fly everywhere.
We use a hand cranked coconut scraper similar to the one shown. At home, multiple times a week.
i wanna buy the kebab thing and make some trompo tacos.
another top vid ,,,, thanks uploader
“You can make some amazing things on that and you don’t have to limit yourself to lamb.” Well you know what that means—two chefs test out a kebab grill!
If those gloves are like the ones I use at work, they actually work. We use them while working with butchery robots, and you can press your hand firmly against a knife, with no problems. They won't do shit against having your fingers torn to shit by a rotating torture device though.
i do want more kitchen gadgeta video but will it make you go bankrupt
do a pass it on but heston blumenfield themedyou know like disguising something sweet in a savoury
James comparing Ben to Will from the Imbetweeners is everything
You should try the traditional coconut grater.
Those silicon grips are available all over the place, even Aldi, for far less money but without the magnets and with a bit more finger coverage
James thinks Ben is expandable
coconut shredders that are just like manually turned exist, but honestly that wouldn't be as fun to watch in this context. That this was horrifying, it looked like a saw trap.
We are all James during the coconut bit.
I love Mike and Barry!
“I’m not f**** doing that” 😂
Grate vid apart from the end where it looked like you guys were trying to give me an epileptic fit! Thumbs up but please sort out the flashing colours!
Was that a Lando Norris reference in the intro?
thanks, guys but I could think of a few ways to make that coconut shredder safe.it looks like a lathe it just needs the rest to make it work. The kebabs machine if I needed one hell yes.have a gas bbq kettle with a rotisserie. and a built-in pizza oven. The Glove thingy it is alright if you have munchkin hands.
To be faaaiiiirrrr
I do love how the three of them were utterly terrified but Ben was just trying to figure out how good it was. Soldiering on like a brave lad.
After watching that coconut scraper I want to invent a useless kitchen gadget just to have sorted test it
#24 on trending in Canada!
https://pin.it/v2crq5mut7moi6 *For Mike! Your poached eggs will work!! I use a small strainer and eggs are prefect! Good luck
Can you do a blind taste test with pretentious food verse a similar item that is half the cost?
Walmart Rhett and Link lookin ass niggas
sg aunties: ahh those angmohs ah
I enjoy watching these because you guys are entertaining, but on the down side they are a huge reminder of how the consumption driven economic model screws the future of the planet. All of this tat uses up valuable resources to create something that is basically just waste product in most cases. I’m not a particularly eco-aware kind of person, but it’s pretty clear to me that the real cost of our profligacy will fall on future generations.
He has nothing to live for 😂 Also I’m Tamil and the coconut shredder is a household item though we have a manual one, this one does seem very dangerous.
So are pochies just conical coffee filters?
Good one lads! I may or may not be window-shopping for vertical rotisseries now… tacos al pastor? 😀 And that coconut eviscerator is terrifying.
Alright, we need a video dedicated to teaching Mike that he can indeed poach an egg (along with all the foodie viewers).
I can see ways to improve that coconut shaver that would help make it not so much of a health hazard.
I've seen a similar rotisserie thing, but it had a glass door to help keep the heat around the meat and cook it better.
As someone who works food prep, I don't see what was so bad about the coconut scraper, if they had proper cut-gloves it'd be fine
for sure it will work the same if you don't turn on the coconut grater thing
Challenge Idea: You normals have been cooking for a while now, and have far surpassed most home chefs. However, your behind the scenes people have been watching and learning as you have been, but without the experience. But they should have picked up something. Or have they? Challenge Mike, Jamie, or Baz to a cooking challenge against your behind the scenes people! What have they really learned from all this time behind the camera? Serving Suggestion: Use the same dish for both participants, but give the boys a harder recipe.
We need a 'Review Antique or Vintage Kitchen Gadgets' video
Not sure that that dumb coconut thing counts as such, but…
Never wear gloves when using power tools. It's better to be cut than to be grabbed and ripped.
With as slow as that coconut gadget was spinning, I really don't see what the major hazard is. It may not be for everyone, but it looks perfectly fine to me.
"Mike: What are you doing?
James: He has nothing to live for!"
I Love You James Hahahahaha
Regarding those egg poaching pockets, I can see that there's a market they're trying to appeal to, but tbh, there are already better, reusable products that are super cheap & fill that need.
I'm physically disabled & very active in disabled communities (there are many — we're not a monolith & we all have differing experiences). For someone like me whose hands are quite fragile, just poaching an egg the usual way is no longer possible. I used to be quite adept at it, but can't quite do it anymore without destroying it in the process. The weakness & shakiness of my hands makes it impossible.
However, I can poach eggs using those silicone egg poaching cups you can get at kitchen stores — the ones that float while still holding the egg below the water line. They're also, like I said, reusable, so you spend a couple of dollars (in Aussie money) on them up front and then just wash them each time — which is something I can also do for myself, since they're silicone and extremely easy & safe for someone like me to wash.
I know so many other disabled folks with a whole range of different kinds of disabilities who use those egg poaching cup thingies for all the same reasons. I know a guy with Bipolar Disorder who relies heavily on kitchen gadgets during his depressive periods, cuz without them, he just wouldn't be able to prepare food for himself. He has 8 of them for when he's unable to wash them right away. I know a woman with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (which means her bones are like glass) who uses them because they're a small thing that makes cooking safer for her. There's also a guy I know whose right arm (his dominant arm) was amputated about a year ago and he uses them cuz he's unable to control the process without them. He may well adapt and be able to do so later on, but while he's still building new muscle memory for doing everything one-handed, things like that are invaluable tools of independence.
Contrary to popular (abled) belief, most of us do not have carers. We have to make do and gadgets like that enable us to do simple things for ourselves.
So those silicone cup thingies already fill that need impressively well. There will, of course, be people who can use them, but can't wash them and need something disposable. But I can think of a handful of things already on the market that are cheaper and could be used for the same purpose, so I really don't understand what the goal was with the poaching bags. I can only assume they didn't do enough market research beforehand 🤷
Isn’t the point of one up the upright grills is that you shave off parts that are cooked and the next layer finishes cooking after? Like it’s not supposed to be fully cooked at one time?
i'd love to see them use the kebab grill for other dishes like they did with the pizza oven to show off what else could be made on it!
I need that grill
Some great gadgets ! We should do a video like this one 🙂
I don't really know why everyone was so terrified of the coconut shredder. Have these guys never been near power tools?
I'm Malaysian and that coconut scraper can be found in nearly any market here. And we do it with bare hands.Cheers mate.
We need that sexy intro back..
He has nothing to live for
OMG I MUST OWN THE VERTICAL GRILL
You can see a coconut shredder in every South/Southeast and East Asian public market. Sellers don't use gloves, because they can hold a fresh coconut just fine. Your first problem is that your coconuts are not fresh and whole (with the husk). Without this, how difficult is it for you to get fresh coconut cream, or have cold pressed coconut oil? Oh that's right. You use coconut cream from a can. Maaan, I love being Asian lol
This design of silicone oven mitts has remained unchanged for decades in science labs. A bit pricey, mostly because all labware is pricey (OPM principle). No magnet though.https://www.amazon.com/Eisco-Silicon-Rubber-Glove-Protector/dp/B0147L5U84/ref=sr_1_7?crid=2O50QXFHJ0FB8&keywords=silicone+hand+protector&qid=1575255922&sprefix=silicone+hand+%2Caps%2C210&sr=8-7
Bunch of pansies.
0:35 “love bite”
If you have problems with poaching eggs just use clingfilm.
The #Benuendos are flying early.
are those poachies just coffee filters shaped like an egg?
BENJAMIN EBBERS, DANGER MAN! Who knew?
'I'd' buy those egg poacher bags, and am heading to Amazon right now to see if they have them! ————> ? Well, turns out Amazon does carry these, for about $0.25 ea. I'm INNNNN! : )
The only thing scary about that scraper is the shit traction on the gloves. Those mitts on the other hand…
4 grown men (2 of them trained chefs) scared of a coconut scrapper. 😑 As an indian it's hilarious 🤣
It is for home use. And we use it all the time. My mom taught me and my siblings to use them when we were 10-11ish. Basically slave labour😝
P.s. Ben you are holding it wrong. And the gloves probably made it more difficult than it is.
I remember shaving them coconut when i was a kid at home with my mom. Our machine is like waaaaaaay bigger and was dangerous looking. But my mom was like, “come on, help me shave this coconut” . I was 10 at the time.
"look at that creme!" 🤣🤣 Bravo Mike!
Four of the world's least manly men.
Who is this Evers, Evans or Edgar you are referring to? Do you mean Ben? Have a missed an episode where some of the characters change their names?
that coconut shredder is very common in south East Asian households 😂
Hahaha I clicked it while waiting for my friend to pick me up for church. Didn’t get to finish it…so I watched the hilariousness again! Never regretted it for a second. Great vid guys. 😁
Man up ya fucking girls the thing isn’t scary t all …..
I have silicon oven mitts that solve every issue they had with the little magnet oven mitt but they aren't magnetic.
some things never change
like ben's unintended inuendos
C'mon Wednesday , can't wait !! 🇳🇿
Why isn't it just a drill bit for a pedestal drill? You clamp it in place and drill downwards into some scrap wood then press the big red STOP button that's there for safety. Useful for the home woodworker.
KITCHEN GADGETS is back!!!!☀️🕶🥤❄🥰🥳⛱🇦🇺
NEVER wear gloves when using spinning machines with an automatic rotation speed.
Worst case scenario without gloves is a bleeding wound.
Worst case scenario with gloves, is the gloves coil around the spinning tool and trap your hand in the blade. Possibly even in a position where you can't push the (emergency) off button.
Mostly all the Asian homes has the coconut shredder…. And in some homes it's a must tool…. 😅
James just yelling 'He has nothing to live for' XD XD XD
Actual convo w/ wife right now re: vertical grill –
Wife: We could serve meat from a pole, have friends over and have a donur party…Me: [slow head turn] What the hell is the matter with you?!
All three of you freaking out of concern for Ben is just too cute 😊❤
Make another video using the kebab vertical grill!
Next gadget suggestion.
pronto stovetop pizza oven
I have seen the promo video. Idk if it really does work.
I will say this with absolute certainty and conviction as someone with 23 years of experience as a machinist…NEVER WEAR GLOVES WHEN DEALING WITH ANYTHING THAT SPINS!!!…
The nanosecond that one of the fibers of any glove gets caught in a spinning object, it's already too late…I have had to unwrap people's hands from way too many objects because the gloves got wrapped up and broke their fingers, removed their skin, or split their skin like a squashed tomato…
Sri Lankan here, have been using hand cranked coconut shredder from when I was 10 years old…you guys don't know how to use it
That coconut shaver looks like something Alton Brown created while day drinking.
Guys guys guys the first gadget what you made is called shawerma not kabab
GUYSSSS döner definitely takes more than 40 mins to cook come onnn 🙃 also a little over reacting about that coconut think???? 😂😂
“I know my silicone” -Ebbers 2019
The coconut machine is useful…just don't stand in front of the machine with the coconut in your hands boys. Stand behind the machine with the coconut in hand so you can watch what you are doing. Personally I am use to the coconut scraper I have at home that you have to do manually, but I would buy the electrical version as a backup to my manual one that inherited from my grandmother.
I couldn’t help but notice Barry’s beard, looks great! Mike needs a shave! Ben and James, don’t change a thing!Also 12:17 🤗 12:59
We use a lot of fresh scraped coconut in our cooking at home.
I have a manual one with a hand crank. Works much better than this electric one as you can control the speed more precisely.
Also on mine, you dont need to clamp it to the counter, its got really powerful suction cups that engage and disengage with a lever.
Pretty common in South India.
Lost it at "He has nothing to live for!!!" 😂😂😂
All the South East Asians be rolling their eyes seeing them freak out about the coconut shredder
we use coconut shredders in india a lot lol… but never jad this scary experience 😂.. ours is the traditional manual shredders so we hav to turn the blade to shred coconut 😎
That coconut scraper is common around SE Asia. Only in the wet markets though. Only done by pros. We used to use a manual scraper mounted on a low bench at home.
With the egg poaches, I wonder if it is reusable. If it is, I think that could make it useful. That said I may have missed it if they said it.
"we care too much about you…you gotta- stop it!" aww you guys secretly love Ben <3
There are manual versions of the coconut thing, much safer, much easier to use.
I love you boys…I honestly look forward to your videos more than anyone else’s. And I can’t even make pretty much anything you cook. So many allergies and intolerances but you make such incredible content that has good friends, great humour etc you always listen to your fans, you keep things fresh and show new ways to see the world, food and life just by being yourselves. So thank you for the smiles and the passion you share with us.
Love these videos! So entertaining!
Ben troubleshooting Mike’s egg issues was so wholesome. 😭🥺 What a helpful boyo!🥰
I can't decide what was funnier. Ben scaring everyone or their reactions assuming he was about to lose a limb.
