TWO PITTSBURGH RESTAURANTS ARE DRAWN NATIONAL ATTENTION. THE POPULAR CNN TRAVEL SHOW PARTS ARE KNOWN FOR ITS STAR ANTHONY POOR DANE TO THE SQUIRREL HILL CAFE WHERE HE SAMPLE PIEROGIES. AND ANOTHER ONE THE FOOD NETWORK IS FEATURING. LOCAL RESTAURANT ON ITS GINORMOUS FOOD SHOW. HE CROSSES THE COUNTRY INTO IN SEARCH OF MASSIVE QUALITY OF — QUANTITIES OF NORMAL ITEMS AND THAT SEARCH BROUGHT HIM TO BAKN. RANDY IS POSED WITH DENNY AND THE GIANT TACO THAT BROUGHT THE FOOD NETWORK TO TOWN. RANDY IS HERE TO SHOW IT AND HOW TO MAKE IT. AT LEAST MORE NORMAL SIZE. GOOD MORNING. GOOD TO BE HERE. THIS IS EXCITING. IT’S VERY EXCITING. WE ARE BLESSED TO BE ON THE FOOD NETWORK. DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THE GINORMOUS SHOW? I DID. THEY TRAVEL THE COUNTRY FINDING GINORMOUS FOOD? THEY DO TALK ABOUT THAT. THE LARGEST PORTIONS OF FOOD YOU WOULD HAVE AND HOW GOOD AND DECADENT IT IS. THIS IS WHAT YOU SERVED IT IN? WE HAD TO GET A LARGE PIZZA TRAY AND CRIMP IT. THIS WAS MADE BY HAND BY JOHN BLOOMFIELD. JOHN IS A GREAT GUY AND A LOT OF WORK IN A RESTAURANT. THE TACO FITS INSIDE OF YEAR. THAT IS TOO MUCH. YOU DON’T JUST USE A TORTILLA. THIS IS A SPECIAL TORTILLA. ITS PANCAKE BATTER. I STUFF IT WITH BACON. WE PUT AN EGG IN HERE. THIS IS A NORMAL TISSUE SERVE. DAY IN AND DAY OUT. IF YOU PUT IT ALL IN ONE, IT WOULDN’T BE THAT MUCH FOOD. THIS IS OF BACON. HOW DO YOU FLIP IT? I HAD TO BUY A PIZZA FLIPPER. WOW. IT TOOK AN HOUR TO PRACTICE THAT AND GETTING THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF PANCAKE BATTER. DID YOU PRACTICE BEFORE THE TV CREW CAME? WEEKS. JUST TO GET A DOWN. WEEKS AHEAD OF TIME. JUST TO MAKE SURE THE BATTER CONSISTENCY WOULD MAKE IT WORK. OH MY GOODNESS. THAT’S CRAZY. WHAT ELSE? ON THAT ONE, THERE WAS A POUND OF BATTER, ONE DOZEN EGGS. THAT IS A LOT MORE FOOD. ONE POUND OF CHEDDAR CHEESE . OH MY GOODNESS. A POUND OF PEPPER BACON AND A POUND OF APPLEWOOD BACON. YUM. WE STUFF IT WITH CRUMBLED BACON AND TAKE THE CHEDDAR CHEESE. YOU SERVED THIS FOR WHAT MEAL? ALL DAY. THE SERVER THAT NIGHT ALSO? YES. YOU ALWAYS HAVE THE BEST FOOD. THE KIDS LOVE IT. THE ADULTS LOVE IT. THE BAR IS FANTASTIC. THANK YOU. REALLY COOL SPOT. THIS LOOKS SO DELICIOUS. WHAT WAS IT LIKE WHEN THEY WERE FILMING? IT WAS GREAT. THEY ARE ENGAGING AND FUN. JOSH IS A GREAT GUY. WE LEFT LIKE BEST FRIENDS. YOU HAD CUSTOMERS THEY ARE? YES. THEY WERE A FUN GROUP. HOW LONG DID IT TAKE — TAKE TO FILM? THEY WERE THERE FOR HOURS FOR AN EIGHT MINUTE SEGMENT. INCREDIBLE. WE DO A FEW RETAKES OF THINGS. THEY WANT THE LIGHTNING, ANGLES. WE ARE LOOKING AT YOU. THAT IS MY PARTNER AND THIS IS AFTER THE SHOOTING. SUSAN McMAHON. SHE IS THE TOZ ALEHOUSE. THAT IS THE BAR. I LOVE THE DECOR. JOHN WALTER THAT DID THIS, DID THE WHOLE BACK PART. IT IS AN INDUSTRIAL LOCAL. FANTASTIC. WHAT ARE YOU SERVING THERE? MAC AND CHEESE. WE TOOK A LOBSTER MAC & CHEESE. SAUSAGE, PEPPERS, ONIONS, BUFFALO BLUE, FRENCH FRIES. BURGERS? BURGERS, CHICKEN, SANDWICHES AND SALADS. IT IS RIGHT DOWN THE STREET. YES IT IS. THIS WILL GET A LITTLE BIT OF GREENS. THIS IS THE HONEY CIDER VINAIGRETTE. BECAUSE IT’S A TACO, I LIKE TO PUT THIS GREEN TO MAKE IT A LITTLE MORE. YOU HAVE A WATCH PARTY? WE DO. WE ALSO HAVE A BOURBON MAPLE SERA. LET’S FINISH IT OFF. YOU HAVE SWEET AND SAVORY. IT ISN’T A FIRM SHELL BUT IT’S A GOOD SHELL. IT LOOKS DELICIOUS. TELL EVERYBODY ABOUT THE WATCH PARTY.
