ALL NEW Ninja Intelli-Sense & Ninja Chef vs. Vitamix Ascent SHOWDOWN!

ALL NEW Ninja Intelli-Sense & Ninja Chef vs. Vitamix Ascent SHOWDOWN!

Posted on November 20, 2019 by Demond Reichert

hey you guys the holidays are here and welcome to blending with Henry the number one channel on YouTube for blender reviews and delicious blender recipes hey you guys how you doing welcome to the blender with Henry show my name is Henry the holidays are here and you know what that means shopping and you’re looking for a great blender but you’re also looking for the best deal now this is the time that the infomercials are in your face marketing their products saying their better the competition of a fraction of the price and let’s be honest you guys it’s not true you get what you pay for and you know it now one of the companies that tries to challenge vitamix is ninja and they have a couple of new machines they just released take a look at this when my customers asked me which blender to buy I always say if you want the same great quality you get from smoothie shops Starbucks bars and restaurants to buy the machine that they use every single one these places used as a Vitamix. well I have both the new ninja intellisense and the ninja chef machines going against the Vitamix the sensor is a 3500 and I’m going to show you guys that you truly get what you pay for so if you guys are ready then let’s get blending with Henry the ninja intellisense system is basically an old repackaged nutri ninja with the stacked blades and a touchscreen the ninja chef is a four blade system with variable speed control and an on-screen display but it kind of looks like a Vitamix and it has a tamper huh vegetables making complete nutrient juices that retain all the nutrients and fiber with no tamping and no extra water professional incidental you guys the ninja chef machine uses a tamper like the Vitamix now according to their ad using a tamper is a bad thing but now they’re contradicting themselves beware of ninjas marketing you guys on the box that states as a feature that they includes a 72 ounce pitcher but at the bottom and small print they say 64 ounce max liquid capacity same as the Vitamix they hope you don’t notice the small print. recently ninjas new intellisense system win against the vitamix ascent series a 3500 and I kind of took issue with this ad you guys take a look. All with crushing power not even the $500 Vitamix ascent to keep up just look what happened when Erica and Bob put the Vitamix up against the intellisense and two pounds of rock-hard frozen strawberries without Ninja stacked blades the Vitamix got the berries in the bottom but left almost all the other ones on the top untouched believe this it’s a perfectly uniform consistency it’s snowy now but ninja did to show you guys was the truth there was no improvement in a blade system or the blending quality take a look at I show you the black berry seeds test, this is how you would really use your blender okay so in the ninja intellisense I’m putting in one cup of frozen blackberries and one cup of water and the Vitamix is Ascent A3500 I’m putting in one cup of frozen blackberries and one cup of water on the ninja intellisense it only has low speed and high speed so we’re gonna use the high speed on the Vitamix we’re going to go and touch the start button a ramp up to the highest speed [Music] right away I can see a lot of blackberries seeds stuck to the wall of the ninja intellisense pitcher the walls of the Vitamix ascent container showed nothing but smooth pulp from the fiber of the blackberries but I’m still going to show you even more. this is the white plate test I’m going to pour the blackberry puree from each machine onto the place so I’m going to go ahead and start with the ninja and now the Vitamix notice right away there’s a difference in color that Vitamix looks a little bit deeper in color now using a spoon I’m going to spread the puree across both plates, remember the Vitamix is on the left and the ninjas on the right. just as we saw in the ninja pitcher the blackberry seeds are very prominent in the puree and the puree doesn’t appear smooth or well blended the Vitamix parea is so smooth there’s absolutely no visible blackberry seeds and it’s well blended now this is the way a proper puree should look now why didn’t Ninja use their new chef model to do the same test? with the ninja chef I’m adding the same two pounds of strawberries as they used in their ad against the Vitamix ascent okay so on the ninja chefs control panel I’m going to use the manual mode then I’m going to ramp it up to the highest speed just like they did with the Vitamix ascent [Laughter] well looks like it’s struggling so let me bring in that tamper just like they In the Vitamix is Ascent and that ad yeah this isn’t working out so let’s pour it up and see how it turned out of course you guys are going to see a lot of unblended strawberries oh the irony and ninjas ad trying to make the Vitamix look useless now they won’t do this test on all their latest machines especially the ninja chef which is more closely featured to a Vitamix. as you can see it didn’t work that’s because ninja chef machine uses a four blade system like the Vitamix that wouldn’t dare use that model because it defeats their argument and there’s typical marketing. looking close up here’s the ninja intellisense touchscreen control panel so I’m going to touch the power button in the screen of light up now the display is bright and clear with easy to read presets now there’s a low speed and a high speed and there’s also pulse now the low and high speeds you guys are the only speeds there’s no variable speed so this is very limited now don’t be fooled by the quote unquote intellisense moniker these presets don’t know what you’re blending so results can be mixed here’s the ninja chef up close and personal now it also has a bright and easy to read display with lots of presets but this is not a touchscreen you guys nor are the buttons at the bottom now notice the soup preset is timed for a minute and 30 seconds now if I were to move the switch over to the nutbutter preset you’ll notice it’s time to two minutes that’s because the ninja chef cannot run any longer than two minutes because it overheats same issues with the soup preset ninja keeps it at a minute snd 30 seconds because they tell you to use hot liquids to create the soup quicker this is fine for basic soups but soups of raw veggies take longer to blend and it’s best to blend from cold liquids and blend for at least five minutes as the Vitamix can easily do. here’s the Vitamix ascent series A3500 I’m gonna switch it on and there’s a full touchscreen control panel here’s pulse start the stop and has touchscreen presets for smoothies frozen desserts hot soups puree cleaning and has a digital timer and it has a rotary style variable speed control knob. now unlike ninja Vitamix does not throw you a bunch of features and shortchange you on performance and quality regardless of the model you buy ninja created a new lid for the chef’s machine that works like the Vitamix the Ascent container so it just snaps right in place from the locks on each side and the lid plug is removable so you can add ingredients the Vitamix ascent container snaps right in place by way of the locks on both sides and the lid plug is removable so you can add ingredients while blending while the ninja chef has only four blades against the other ninjas that have the stack blades the ninja chef’s blades aren’t improvement over the stack blades the Vitamix ascent uses four patented laser-cut blades that are thick and performs second-to-none here’s where the ninja chef fails it uses rubber gears to drive the blades rubber shows where after a short period of time the Vitamix the same container has metal gears and the metal retainer nut to hold them in place for commercial quality design and longevity very disappointing that the ninja chef has a plastic drive socket to drive the blades rubber mixed with plastic means you’ll be buying another blender after this wears quickly. the vitamix drive socket is full-on metal just like the container metal on metal means the Vitamix will generally outlast its 10-year warranty as most other Vitamix machines do the Ninja intellisense pitcher uses the same complicated lid design as the Nutri ninja requiring you to press a button to unlock it and when putting it back you need to line up the arrows now the lid cover for the spout is still cheaply made and the hole is still too small the stick ingredients through while blending [Music] now these are the same dangerous stacked blades that are filed down on the edges a very sharp no kidding you guys even the lid cover says the blades are loose and sharp these are not family-friendly and I do not recommend this machine the drive socket on the ninja intellisense is about the same as the ninja chef but the intellisense pitcher has plastic gears full-on plastic means full on wear and tear much sooner than you expect and lastly the power cord ninja still uses cheap thin two-prong power cords for their products these are made for clock radios and lamps and will not stand the test of time in a real world kitchen as they can fray easily as with all their blending machines Vitamix uses professional-grade thick grounded power cords that can withstand abuse in the commercial kitchen high performance product needs a professional-grade power cord unless of course your machine isn’t truly a high performance product a few moments ago I showed you guys how the Vitamix and the ninja chef have removable lid plugs to add ingredients but adding ingredients while blending can only happen if the blender can maintain blending efficiency without splashing liquids now let me show you I’m gonna switch both the Vitamix and the ninja chef on notice the ninja chef as the water is jumping up and down very aggressively and it’s the lowest speed possible now watch the Vitamix maintain a low tide of the water this is because it creates a stronger vortex to pull the ingredients down towards the blades this is also the lowest speed possible. watch as the water aggressively jumps out of the lid plug hole now imagine if this was a hot soup or other types of liquids splashing. in order to add ingredients you need to shut off the ninja but then that defeats the whole purpose one of the reasons professional chefs and restaurants use Vitamix is because it really works like a true chef’s machine no splashing means you can add ingredients while blending such as adding olive oil and creating dressings but also you guys notice how much quieter the Vitamix is Ascent verses the ninja chef, it’s even quieter at higher speeds [Music] the Vitamix the Ascent machines come with a full 10 year warranty that covers normal wear and tear of everything in the box Vitamix will pay for your shipping back and forth for service now believe me you guys they go way beyond expectations for the customer ninja machines come with a one-year warranty but they do not cover normal wear and tear parts now what’s more disturbing is their VIP lifetime warranty reduces down to two years if shark ninja chooses to replace your blender rather than repair it guess which option they most likely will choose vitamix machines are truly built to last they are hand built and made in the USA with over 70 percent parts that are actually made in the USA ninja blenders are made in China and are not high-quality as some things that are made in China can be now disturbing to see they still warn the consumer about toxic chemicals in their products lastly ninja has two new machines when combined have the functions of one Vitamix together you’re paying $400 for two machines that don’t perform as well are not built as well or have the same longevity as the Vitamix at any price with these new ninja machines you’re they’re paying for a touchscreen nice new displays and some new feature enhancements but the end of the day you still put lipstick on a pig. if you really want great pay for great, at the end of the day great will pay for itself Vitamix has been making blenders since the 1930s and I know quite a few people that have had theirs for over 20 years and they are still running beautifully so which vitamix should you buy this holiday season throughout the coming year of 2018 let me show you my favorites along with some tasty recipes I made with them over the past year the Explorian E310, it’s amazing affordable in my first pick you must try my chocolate cashew milk recipe. the 780 beautiful design has been a real showstopper/ Vitamix’s first touchscreen I love making delicious creamy almond butter all the time. my prize machine you guys my vitamix Pro 750 copper metal finish, nobody’s allowed to use it but me my own creation creamy sweet onion soup takes a couple hours to make but it’s so worth the wait. The ascent A2300 entry-level with top level performance carrot apple juice I call it the un-green juice. it’s naturally sweet and of course the star of this video the Vitamix is Sen series A3500 it comes in multiple colors and will perhaps be the vitamix you’ll own for the next 15 years. my expression smoothie breakfast bowl perhaps the best recipe I’ve ever made in the Vitamix my own creation I call it the perfect fruit smoothie one of the recipes from my Vitamix 101 how-to series and you can grab the recipe for this as well as my other tasty concoctions shown this video on blending with Henry dot com. next summer bring your Vitamix to the beach like I did I have a blast but you might be asked to make some smoothies hey you guys how you know welcome to a blender with every show you got me laughing now I can’t get the giggles out. Alright you guys thank you and I appreciate you as always if you want to choose a Vitamix from my Henry’s favorites in this video hit over the blending with Henry calm and order using the provided links you’ll get fast free shipping and you’ll be supporting blending with Henry for future videos and more recipes I’m on Instagram Twitter Facebook and Pinterest have a wonderful holiday season

Ninja is pitiful. They have gone so far as to make fake reviews for the Vitamix Explorian on QVC. I'm sure they've done this plenty of times elsewhere but this is the one that caught my attention. Everyone should know that Ninja is a low end cheap blender no matter how they try to market themselves. Vitamix has no competition.

That ninja was pure garbage. Just the blackberry test alone was enough to prove how well the vitamix works. And I can confirm cuz I own a vitamix and it’s amaze balls.

Your review was in death. And Nijna should consult you on making a blender.

Ive owned a refurbished Vitamix 750 for many years. It doesn't have fancy blending modes, just the speed control, on/off switch and pulse. I always start on slow speed and usually only turn it up to the 4-5 speed. Honestly in watching videos on youtube I just like my simple Vitamix. Thank you for your reviews I like them

My current Ninja (Master Prep…with power pod on top) does exceptionally well on frozen fruits…but there's a lot of overheating along the way if you're not careful. I have had several Ninja models. Different styles. If people read the instructions on the Ninja…no matter the model it seems…you can only run the blender 15 seconds straight/continuously at a time, or it overheats and stops dead with a pleasant burning smell. Also, one MUST stick to the max fill lines. Even sticking to the max fill line…I've had issues of contents climbing too high, …right up into the motor pod with my current model. Killed it dead. Couldn't resuscitate. Expensive to replace these little pods.

I just got the Vitamix A2500. Still in the box! I’ve never used it and can’t wait. I’m just a little confused as to why u didn’t do the strawberry test on both brands and models just one? Anyhow the rest of the video did confirm I made a good choice 🙂

    NINJA, Shame on you!
    SHAME SHAME SHAME
You could not give me a Ninja for free. And come to think, Ninja was the first blender I was going to purchase. Not after this video. I’m gonna spend my money wisely and get a Vitamix! 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you Henry for this video as always 😊

I love your comparison videos. Please make more video like that. I own the Vitamix Aspire/Explorian model and I love it so much. You pay for what you get, no doubt about that.
Ps: You are funny in your video 🙂

Just made peanut butter in the Vitamix 5000 I bought in 2004. Took about a minute. Machine runs like the day I bought it. Bought a 5300 a few years ago, and it is, like all Vitamixes, awesome. While I lust after the Pro 750 because it looks so damn good, if I ever buy another Vitamix–and I might because, like most Vitamix owners, I'm kind of a fanatic–I'll probably get a 5200 or a 7500. Can't see getting presets when the most time I spend with this thing is 90 seconds at a time. I'm not going to walk away and refinance my mortgage in the time it takes to make a smoothie, or even in the six minutes it takes for soup. Being somewhat of an oldster now, I don't want my Vitamix, or toaster, or coffee maker to have wireless connectivity. Just something else to break. I don't need, or want, my toaster to give me stock market reports. Bought Vitamixes for our two kids, and a nephew. I love your videos, Henry. Thanks for calling out Nija on their misleading and sleazy advertising. You have provided consumers a great service over the past six (I think it's six) years. Keep it up! You're the best out there.
